The 70s are back, at least the fashion from the 70s is back. And everyone is eating it up…including me! It’s laid back, care free and includes fringe, flare and floral. I have always loved a flare on my jeans. I have a problem letting go of my clothes (aka, I rarely get rid of clothes). I’ve had this pair of flares since 2008, because you just never know what could come back in style. So if you buy a pair of 70s flares this season and they’re out next season, DON’T get rid of them! If you’re shorter, like me, just get a flare that is wide enough to show the shape but not too wide or else they will drown you. I think this is key to shorter people pulling off the look.
Other pieces…the kimono or the thing that you can literally throw on over anything and everything, including dresses, long sleeve tops, leggings and a loose tee. It adds flow and detail to any outfit. This fall, they are coming in all colors and patterns, including floral, lace, sheer, etc.
Last but not least, the floppy hat. I’m obsessed with hats this fall. They make me feel cool and edgy when really, I’m not that cool or edgy, so I like walking out of the house with these bad boys on. I have one in brown, black and have my eye on a grey one. I went to the mall yesterday and they are everywhere, for not that expensive. I know these are a hard thing to buy online because you want to make sure the shape fits your head. So head to the mall, whether its Forever 21, Nordstrom, Anthropologie, Aldo, you name it–they are there. FLOPPY HAT/CROPPED WHITE TOP/FLARED DENIM/KIMONO/MULE SANDALS
